Nizar Ghanem is the Director of Research at Triangle, a Beirut based progressive thinktank. He has more than 15 years of extensive experience in policy research, economic development and community organizing. Nizar is also a co-founder of the Depositors Union, a grassroot movement working on protecting the deposits and savings of millions of Lebanese.
Nizar also played a leading in several anti-government protests such as Youstink movement in 2015, Beiurt Madinati and the 2019 uprising that continues to shape the events of the current political landscape in Lebanon following the financial crisis that hit the country in 2019. Nizar has also authored various reports and published scholarly articles on a variety of topics related to governance and political economy in the West Asia and North Africa region.
Nizar holds a Masters in International Relations and Economics from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
