Speaker's Bio

Maria Saadé holds a PhD completed with postdoctoral research in Seismology from Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris. She is a physicist specialized in earthquake studies. She worked on developing a new method for monitoring the crust before, during and after an earthquake, with applications on Japanese earthquakes. From 2017 to 2019 she worked on planetary seismology and was part of the scientific team for the NASA InSight mission.

Today she’s a seismic expert in applied geophysics on urban scale for seismic risk assessment.

She got the chance to learn about seismology at different scales, global and urban, terrestrial and planetary and she would love to tell you about everything she learned.
