Imad Gemayel

Principal at IGA Architecture and Landscape Design

Imad Gemayel studied architecture at the “Académie Libanaise des Beaux Arts – ALBA” to which he returned after 10 years for a Master in “Aménagement du Paysage” following an extensive experience in the field with local and foreign firms.

Soon after, he switched sides to teach for over 10 years in universities such as ALBA, AUB, LAU and gave lectures in international conferences in Italy, Ireland and France.

Imad enriched his studies with an early professional involvement and worked his way up in different companies prior to establishing his own practice in 2004. Registered as a company in 2010, IGA became a solid partner of internationally reputable firms on projects in Lebanon and across the Middle East.

Imad Gemayel’s interest and research in sustainability extend beyond green buildings and derive their inspiration from the roots, to touch on social issues, ethical lifestyle, sustainable management and tourism in addition to the preservation of the natural resources and biodiversity… All of which influence is not only explored in architecture, landscape planning and other design fields but also reflected in the very management of businesses.

Swimming against the stream, with an unpopular if not provocative controversial speech, Imad likes to explore the path of what he calls a “converted” architect.
