Since early March, most of the political and public attention have turned towards preventing and dealing with the worldwide pandemic. That was before the 4th of August Beirut devastating explosion!

Beyond the first three letters that are in common, corruption and “corona” have similar characteristics – both can kill -, and most importantly, both can be mitigated. How? through preventive measures.

During the webinar, we will go through the practical steps that can prevent corruption in the management of Covid-19 crisis, Beirut aid and reconstruction efforts, and beyond!

We will discuss:

Trainer Bio

Julien Courson currently holds the position of Executive Director at the Lebanese Transparency Association (LTA) – La Fassad, the local chapter of Transparency International, since December 2018.
Courson has consulted, throughout his career with numerous local and international organizations. Courson’s work experience has spanned Lebanon, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Jordan and Morocco. Among his recent publications, the “Good Governance Guidelines for the Petroleum Sector in Lebanon” (LOGI), “Is Lebanon preordained to become a Presource Curse Country? (LOGI), “Citizen Guide to Strengthening Transparency in the Oil & Gas Sector Law in Lebanon” (LTA), and “Access to Information in the Oil and Gaz Sector” (LOGI).
From 2004 till 2015, Courson lectured at the Faculty of Economics of Saint- Joseph University (USJ), and was selected by the European Union Delegation in 2010 to participate to the European Union Visiting Program in Bruxelles.
