Speaker Bio

Michel Douaihy‍

Michel is an extensively published academic researcher and consultant with over 20 years of experience in teaching, training, advising, and conducting qualitative research focusing on identity politics and historical social and political transformation in Lebanon and the Arab World. In addition to his academic work, Michel has led and been part of numerous civil society initiatives in Lebanon for over 15 years. Since May 2022, Michel has been a member of the Lebanese Parliament representing the caza of Zgharta; he won his seat running on an opposition “Change” electoral list, which he co-founded, in North Lebanon’s third district. Michel is currently a member of both the foreign affairs and human rights committees in the Parliament.
